Graph anything. In this guide: charting a company, ranges and views, Market Scatter, and Lots of Charts.
Research Tools, under Analyze, opens on Graph anything. Type a ticker and press Enter. The company's price is drawn first, and the catalogue on the right lists the metrics you can add.
Click a metric to add it, here revenue. A statement line is drawn in steps, one for each fiscal year, on its own axis. You can plot up to eight series, including macro series and index prices. Type in the filter to find one, such as the TSX Composite.
Choose a range, from one month to the maximum. Normalise starts every series at one hundred, so different units share one scale. Log switches the chart to a log scale.
Quarterly statements switches statement lines from annual to quarterly. CSV downloads the series, and Save graph keeps the graph in this browser. Table lists the values under the chart.
Market Scatter plots stocks on any two fields. Here, market cap against revenue, for Canadian listings of two billion and up, on log scales. Each bubble is a company, sized by its market cap. Click one to open its research page.
Lots of Charts draws a small price chart for each name on a list: a preset, your watchlist, or tickers you paste in. Each tile shows the last close and the return over the period. Click one to open its research page.
