Stock Screener, and saving your screens. In this guide: Smart Search, Quick Scan, saving a screen, and the Screen Library.
The Stock Screener is under Screen. Start with Smart Search: describe what you want in plain English, and press Enter.
Every criterion it applied comes back as a chip: here, Canadian listings, a price-to-earnings ratio of 15 or less, and the energy sector. Click a chip to change it, or its cross to remove it.
The results show each company's sector, price, market cap, P/E, return on equity and dividend yield. Notes flag checks on the data, such as high leverage or negative equity.
Quick Scan screens a list. Choose a universe, such as the largest stocks in the S&P 500, or paste your own tickers. Presets fill in a ready-made list.
Filter chips narrow it down: market cap, P/E, dividend yield, sector and more. Here, a dividend yield of 2% or more. Then sort the results, and add columns from the Columns menu.
To keep this screen, click Save and give it a name. It is saved to your account: the universe, the filters and the sort. Your saved screens appear in this list; choose one to run it again. The buttons beside it rename or copy it.
Screen Library is also under Screen.
It holds curated screens, grouped by theme. Click one to run it,
and each list says why its stocks are there.
